WARNING! WARNING! HEART RATE ELEVATED! BLOOD PRESSURE DROPPING! SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTEN—

The biomonitor alerts flashed across Maya's HUD, her vision scrambling and glitching as she fought to ignore them. The pinging alarms strangely matched the beat of the music playing throughout the apartment, and so they were buried in the clutter of noise as she focused on her present task.

Her arms were folded and crossed against her back, held in place by a strong and muscular arm from behind as she straddled one of the gangers on her bed, grinding against him as he thrusted in and out. As if his girth wasn't enough to stretch her pretty pink pussy and small frame to the limit, the second ganger holding her arms was mercilessly fucking her once-tight teenage asshole. Both swollen members shoving inside was enough to break her in half, and yet the third ganger held her up with a fistful of hair as he violated her mouth, her throat bulging with spit and tears flying out from every push and pull, the wet mix soaking her chin and neck as it ran down her body. She was in heaven as she rode the high of Pop-Rocks lighting up every corner in the pleasure centers of her brain.

The third ganger pulled himself free of her mouth with a grunting laugh, admiring his handiwork as he stared at Maya's ruined face and bloodshot eyes before giving a playful smack to her cheek. She gasped for air and strained her neck forward for his cock hanging heavy and erect in front of her, only a few inches out of her reach with a trail of spit connecting the engorged and uncut head to the tip of her tongue hanging loose from her mouth. She looked up in his eyes, silently begging and panting like a bitch in heat as he grabbed the vodka bottle from the bedside table and took a heavy swig. He exhaled sharply as he swallowed the burning liquid, tilting the bottle down in front of her face as she threw her head back, expectant mouth open and waiting. The ganger carefully poured a shot into her mouth, impressed as she effortlessly gulped it down her already damaged throat.

Maya followed up with a giggle as she spit on his cock, straining forward again as she fought for it. She wanted it, needed it, and the ganger was happy to oblige as he grabbed her by the hair again and slid himself in her gaping maw, muffling her screams as the other two took turns on her holes. Her glowing pink eyes rolled back in her head as she worked her tongue up and down the underside of his shaft, the tip teasing his balls as they slapped against her chin.

The bottom ganger reached up with his hands, roughly massaging Maya's petite breasts and teasing her dark brown nipples with his thumbs. She moaned louder at feeling her body molested by his calloused touch, his large hands almost connecting around her back. She rode him harder as her leg muscles flexed. She wanted to give them a good story for Tony...

Her own smattering of juices only made the railing easier as they effortlessly slid in and out, growling in her ears, calling her a good girl and rewarding her efforts. She was both praised and defiled, and she got off on all of it as she tried to laugh amid her face getting fucked into oblivion. She was on the cusp of yet another climax before her HUD flashed with an incoming holocall, the ID reading Rafael Pérez.

...the fuck does the ripperdoc want..., she thought as she carelessly declined the call.

SHI-I-IT!!!

Tony's last words flashed across her mind; he was going to see Rafael after he left the diner earlier. It had to be related, and Maya panicked as she tried to pull herself free of the ganger in front, her throat suddenly tightening as she choked with eyes wide shut. He had a curious look on his face as he pulled his cock out of her mouth. She tried to get the words out between heaving gasps while also trying not to vomit from the triggered gag reflex, "M-My brother's... he's in trouble... g-guys, w-we ne—"

"CALLARSE, COÑO!", the back ganger shouted as he planted a solid and chromed fist squarely in the base of Maya's skull. Her eyes crossed as her vision blacked for a few seconds, the entire room spinning as she screamed in pain while the ganger continued, "We paid for this preem ass... and we're getting our money's worth! You ain't done 'til we say you're done!"

Maya suddenly felt sick to her stomach as her senses returned, and she tried to fight against all three of them. But small as she was, it was already a lost battle. She was folded up and powerless in their embrace. She closed her eyes as tears streamed down her face, and all she saw was the damp and dirty ground lined with trash in that dark alley. She felt the sharp pain from the cold rimmed lip of the oil drum digging against her ribs, and once again she heard that fat fucker's evil laugh piercing her soul before one of the ganger's voices broke through, "That's right, little coño... fight it."

She tried to scream, but her cries were muffled as the third ganger shoved himself back in her mouth and resumed his work. On her soiled bed, in her soiled apartment, her soiled body was used and abused, and all the while the same holocall kept ringing in her head, over and over, as she begged for mercy, begged for them to stop...

[Some time later... Rafael's Clinic, Mission Street, Arroyo, Santo Domingo]

The air inside the clinic was stale, cold and lifeless. The space smelt of cleaning solvent... ammonia. Someone had been hard at work, scrubbing down the walls and floors. And for good reason; given the state of the covered body on the slab, some kind of unholy mess was made to get it there. There was no telling how many witnesses either. The clinic was set between strips of shops against the waterfront between Arroyo and Heywood, people coming and going at all hours of the day or night.

Maya sat on a wheeled stool, more or less dead to the world. It was two hours before she finally returned Rafael's repeated calls and ran back across the bridge into Arroyo, passing the Kenmore along the way. All things considered, she shouldn't have been able to even walk. In those two hours, the three gangers had their way and then some, leaving her with a black eye, a busted lip, and multiple fresh bruises about her face and body in addition to the other internal damages. She still had small trickles of blood from the corners of her mouth and nose drying against her skin. Every part of her hurt, and the entire experience left her with an involuntary twitch causing her to jerk and wince every few seconds, although she herself didn't yet notice it. She didn't even notice the gangers' collective loads soaking the seat of her pants as they found their way to open air.

Her eyes were glued to the body covered only by a thin sheet. If she was crying, she didn't feel the tears. She had no more to give. She felt empty, lost in the wake of everything. She kept replaying the conversation at the diner in her head, over and over, wishing it had gone differently. She wished everything had gone differently...

She jumped, nearly gasping as the metal door opened with a hollow crash. Most ripperdocs didn't keep cold storage facilities on-premise, but Rafael Pérez was a man of some foresight, knowing the war between the Valentinos and 6th Street would eventually boil over. He was a shrewd operator, offering his services to both sides. Except in cases where emotions and loyalty to one side or the other came into play, nobody could really fault him for doing what was necessary to make a living. He certainly wasn't the shrewdest 'doc to occupy this space. Rumors told of a Haitian-born man known only as Doc having owned the space before Rafael. Doc had at one time worked with David Martinez's crew before disappearing altogether at some point in late 2076. There was nothing else kind or complimentary to say about the man. Suffice to say that Rafael was a vast improvement over his predecessor according to the residents of west Arroyo.

He approached from out of the dark, the overhead lamps catching the lines of his face. He wasn't large, but his appearance was nonetheless imposing to the uninitiated. His dark hair was shaved to an inch above his ears, the long bits pulled back tight into a bun resting on the top of his head. His scalp was adorned with multiple implants along the side and back, and his face bore a unique threading pattern interconnecting a wide monocular optical implant in place of both 'ganic eyes with a piercing red glow. His face was angular, his chin pointed and accented with a full beard and mustache. He looked young, but a decade working in deep-tissue integration at Moore Technologies told any naysayers otherwise. The man was skilled in his own right.

He looked at Maya for a short while, his curiosity getting the better of him as he pointed to his own face and said, "Hmm... rough day at the office?"

Maya gave no outward response, and her eyes stayed on the body as she jerked again. Rafael followed up, his tone shifting to a genuine concern as he chose his words carefully, "H-How long have you had that twitch?"

She finally looked at the doctor as she shook her head, "...never noticed it before... just started tonight, I guess."

Rafael carefully reached over, "You want me to che—"

"DON'T...", Maya barked as she swatted his hand and shirked herself away from his reach, "...don't... touch me..."

Rafael noticed her hands returning to hold her gut, a pained expression on her face. Combine the bruises, the unconscious twitching, and her overall body language and aversion to touch, and the picture became clear. He spoke softly, "...I-I'm sorry..."

"What happened...?", Maya tried to not-so-subtly change the subject, "W-Why did Tony come to see you earlier?"

"He needed some work done...", Rafael answered with a deep sigh as he pulled up his own stool and sat down, careful to keep his distance, "He and Padre's boys had a job tonight, and his old deck wasn't cutting it..."

"...o-old... deck...?", Maya asked, thoroughly confused and still in a haze from the drugs working their way out of her system. Rafael's eyes narrowed as he leaned in, "I, uh... guess you two weren't that close over the last year? Never told you that he'd chipped in right after moving into the block?"

She sniffed up, bringing her hands to her nose as she shook her head, "He'd come by once or twice a week for clean clothes, but we weren't really talkin' much... my uh... work... he didn't appro—"

"You'd have been proud of him...", Rafael interjected, trying to lighten the mood, "...kid had the makings of a solid netrunner. Couple of years, he could have written his own ticket to anywhere."

Maya burst into tears, her voice hoarse as all of it hit her at once and she gasped for air, "W-What... h-happened...?"

"He was, uh... his crew...", Rafael was careful at first of what to divulge, not knowing how Maya might react in her present state. He decided after several seconds to just come right out with it, "From what he told me, a Valentinos shot-caller was on his way out of town with a police escort, transferred from NCP to some super-max out in the Badlands... I tried to tell him it was a fool's errand. I think he knew, but he was..."

"Eager to impress...", Maya finished the sentence for him, "He wanted out of our situation so bad that he..."

Rafael read her mind, leaning in as he tried to reassure her, "Maya... don't go down that road. You didn't cause thi—"

"I drove him to this life...", she interrupted, her voice deadpan and detached, "...he was so disgusted with me and my choices that he took the first chance to get away from it..."

As much as Rafael wanted to argue with her, his recent talks with Tony told him that she wasn't wrong, but he wouldn't be the one to say it. She followed up, "I get to live with that now..."

Their conversation was cut short by heavy banging upstairs... fists pounding against a door. Even without eyes to react, Maya could see the panic on Rafael's face as he spoke softly, "Fuck, that's the NCPD looking for answers... looking for blood. Maya... you don't want to be here for this. There's a back door at the end of the hall... go, now!"

He jumped off the stool, and before Maya could even say anything, he was already halfway up the stairs. She certainly couldn't waste the opportunity for a clean getaway, but as she stood up, wavering from side to side as she fought to balance herself on shaky legs, she saw a bottle of pills sitting on a nearby counter. She tried to ignore it, but her eyes kept darting back. The marketed name wasn't familiar to her, but she made out 'benzo—' from the side of the label facing her.

Jackpot...

Every fiber of her being screamed, "NO", in unison, and yet she just couldn't help herself. Never mind the fact that she had spent the last hour staring at the disfigured body of her dead baby brother while her mind tore itself to pieces between her grief, regret, and all the hurt running through her body; all that mattered now was swiping that bottle, and she almost felt her hands shaking at the thought of leaving it behind. It spoke to her, called to her. Like a beacon of light on a stormy night, it beckoned her.

She heard the steps returning, voices clamoring down the stairs, and she instinctively jumped with all the strength her damaged body could muster as she grabbed the pills and whisked herself away and down the hall. Within seconds, she was out the back door of the clinic, honestly surprised there were no cops on lookout. She paused for a moment, catching her breath as she clutched the bottle in her hands like she were guarding it with her life. Whether or not she had actually pulled it off, only time would tell. Rafael would be too occupied with the pigs to notice, so as long as she was able to get back across the bridge to Heywood without being stopped, it was somebody else's problem for another time. She cracked an empty smile to herself as she pushed off the wall and started the long walk home, careful to pull her hood up for fear of being recognized.

[One hour later - Megabuilding H3]

By now the night was in full swing, the City's lights and holographic skyline shining and sparkling outside the windows of the apartment. The water poured from the shower head in the bathroom, steam hanging heavy in the humid air as it traveled throughout. Despite Maya's best efforts, she doubted she'd ever feel clean again after the day's events, and so she stumbled forward completely naked out of the bathroom, residual water dripping down her body. The heavy doorframe crashed against her already bruised shoulder, although she didn't even register the impact as she fell against the wall on the opposite side of the hallway leading to her room. She held yet another stolen vodka bottle by the wide lip between two fingers, taking swigs here and there as she laughed to herself deliriously between sobbing fits.

Back in the kitchen, the bottle of pills sat sideways, the remaining half of its contents spread out, ripe for the picking. Maya wasn't pacing herself by any means. This binge was purpose-driven with only one goal in mind: stop the pain by any means necessary... even if she never woke up again. In fact, she preferred to never wake up again. What was another day in this city without her brother? Even if they were on the ragged edge of hating one another, she still loved him, and she missed him. He was the last thing holding her back from going off the deep end. That safety net was now gone. She had failed her mother, her father, and now her baby brother. And in failing him, she failed them all, all over again.

So what was the fucking point? The three gangers had opened her eyes and helped put everything into perspective for her. Along with the pain they inflicted, they helped her see herself as the rest of the world saw her... a piece of fuckin' meat. If not for Tony, what was the point in subjecting herself to any more abuse? As she staggered forward to her room, walking a serpentine path as she bounced off the walls and lost her footing, she took another large gulp from the bottle, almost choking herself before another raspy laughing fit set in. She had the saddest smile plastered across her face, and she couldn't even open her eyes for fear of the room spinning all around her and making her sick. Her biomons had been flashing for the last half-hour in all the colors of the rainbow. She tried to drown them out by cranking up 98.7 Body Heat, the rhythms of Lizzy Wizzy and Us Cracks having little effect. So she drank more, hoping maybe if she drowned herself instead, the noises would stop. Maybe the pain would stop. Maybe all of it would stop...

—WHUMP!—

Maya tripped over her own two feet, flying forward as the bottle left her hand and she crashed face-first against the filthy shag carpet. She smelled the grain alcohol as it poured from the bottle all over the floor, the vile vapors burning her nostrils. Her mouth was ajar, drool soaking against her cheek as she lay there, helpless and unable to move. Every attempt to breathe felt like she was fighting a car resting on top of her body. She felt the darkness closing in as she struggled and fought for air. Every slowing beat of her heart pounded louder in her ears, accompanied with a deafening ringing. She felt the life leaving her body bit by bit, and she welcomed it with a smile as she let go.

In that endless void, she heard a dull voice screaming her name, getting louder and louder. And then she heard nothing. Finally, there was only silence... finally, there was peace.
